Breakwater Crane Railway

The Douglas Breakwater Crane Railway was a massive self-propelled steam block-setting crane that ran the length of the original breakwater at Douglas, also used for the loading and unloading of vessels. A later crane was built by Cowans, Sheldon of Carlisle (capacity 25 tons; carried on two four-wheel bogies; Works number 9057 of 1948 to Drawing 18087).

Falcon Cliff Lift is a closed, 5 ft (1,524 mm) gauge cliff railway, just off the promenade at Douglas on the Isle of Man, which was built to serve the Falcon Cliff Hotel on the clifftop above. This distinctive castellated building, which now houses offices, was once one of the town's busiest nightlife venues, with its own cabaret bar, and the cliff lift provided a simple way for guests and visitors to arrive at their destination.

Cunningham's Camp Escalator was a moving seated escalator open c. 1919 to 1968 from a short distance behind the promenade in Douglas, Isle of Man, to Cunningham’s holiday camp on Victoria Road.Although sometimes described as a 'chairlift', this was a ground-level escalator covered by a roof, albeit with seats, rather than an overhead chairlift as used in ski resorts.
