Washington Park

Washington Park is a neighborhood and public urban park in Denver, Colorado. The Magness Arena is a multi-purpose collegiate sports arena in Denver, Colorado. It was built from 1997 to 1999 as part of the Daniel L. Ritchie Center, the sports complex at the University of Denver. It is home to the Denver Pioneers ice hockey and basketball teams. It replaces the former DU Arena which was razed in 1997 to make way for the Ritchie Center.

University of Denver station is an island platformed RTD light rail station in Denver, Colorado, United States. Operating as part of the E, F, and H Lines, the station was opened on November 17, 2006, and is operated by the Regional Transportation District. Smith's Irrigation Ditch, originally the Big Ditch and also known as the City Ditch is a historic ditch primarily visible in Washington Park, Denver, Colorado. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.Denver's first irrigation canal, it was surveyed and built during 1860 to 1867, as an open unlined ditch 3 feet (0.91 m) wide at its bottom, steep sides, and 7 feet (2.1 m) wide at the top.

It was razed in 1997 to make room for the $75 million Magness Arena, part of the Ritchie Center for Sports and Wellness, which opened in 1999.

The Daniel L. Ritchie Center is the home of athletics for the University of Denver in Denver, Colorado, United States. There are 17 athletic programs for the Denver Pioneers which run out of the Ritchie Center. The 440,000 square feet (41,000 m2) building cost $84 million to construct. Each of the 17 athletic programs have offices located on the fourth floor, along with the Gottesfeld room, which hosts a great deal of dinners and meetings.

South High School is a high school in the Washington Park neighborhood on the south side of Denver, Colorado, United States. It is part of Denver Public Schools, and is one of four original high schools in Denver, the other three are East, North, and West.
