Tampines (IPA: TAM-pə-nees or TAM-pih-nees) is the regional centre of the East Region of Singapore. With a population of 284,560 living across its five subzones as of 2024, it is the most populous planning area in Singapore. It is home to approximately 5% of Singapore's population. Tampines is bordered to the west by Bedok and Paya Lebar, to the north by Pasir Ris, to the east by Changi, and to the south by the Straits of Singapore.

Simei MRT station is an above-ground Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) station on the East–West line (EWL) in Tampines, Singapore. Operated by SMRT Trains, the station serves nearby landmarks include Eastpoint Mall and Changkat Primary and Secondary School. Like other stations of the Tanah Merah-Pasir Ris stretch, the station has a domed roof design and a distinctive colour for its restricted areas and ceiling trunking box.

Founded in 1994 by the Ngee Ann Kongsi, a Teochew clan foundation, Ngee Ann Secondary School is a successor to the now defunct Tuan Mong High School. The school offers secondary education leading to the Singapore-Cambridge GCE Ordinary Level or Singapore-Cambridge GCE Normal Level examination.

Eastpoint Mall (Chinese: 东福坊) is a shopping mall located in Simei, Singapore beside Simei MRT station. It was formerly known for its wide selection of educational and enrichment centres and its pet shop (The Pet Safari), which was once the largest in Asia.The mall is owned by NTUC Income, and is managed by Frasers Property.

Tampines Junior College (Abbreviation: TPJC) was a junior college located in Tampines, Singapore, offering a two-year course for pre-university students leading up to the Singapore-Cambridge GCE Advanced Level examination.

Tampines East MRT station is an underground Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) station on the Downtown line in Tampines, Singapore. It is located along Tampines Avenue 7, near the junction with Tampines Avenue 2. This station, like most of the other Downtown line stations, also serves as a Civil Defence Shelter.
