Mounds State Park, Indiana Introduction
Mounds State Park, Indiana is a 1.4 mile (3,000-step) route located near Anderson, Indiana, USA. This route has an elevation gain of about 101.7 ft and is rated as easy. Find the best walking trails near you in Pacer App.
Outside of Anderson, IN is a state park that provides boating, trails for walking or running, picnic areas , an excellent museum in the Visitor’s Center, and well kept public areas for families and small sports type activities.
I’d start at the Visitor’s Center that’s very close to the entry gate ($7/ auto), go into the museum to get acquainted with some of the more interesting animals, birds and cultural details so you be more prepared to see them when you are lucky enough to view them. Take a circling route by the Grand Mound area, go down by the White River and go to the right (northerly) along the river about a mile or so, circle back around the trading post and then to the starting point.
