Daejeon (Korean: 대전; Korean: [tɛdʑʌn] ) is South Korea's fifth-largest metropolis, with a population of 1.5 million as of 2019. Located in a central lowland valley between the Sobaek Mountains and the Geum River, the city is known both as a technology and research center, and for its close relationship with the natural environment.

The Daejeoncheon (Korean: 대전천; Hanja: 大田川) is a national river of South Korea within the Geum River system, and one of the three major rivers (including Gapcheon and Yudeungcheon) that flow through Daejeon. The river originates within Daejeon, at Mr. Manin and Mt. Bipa, approximately 15 km (9 mi) to the south of the city center, and flows to the north through the city's old downtown, dividing the districts of Jung-gu and Dong-gu, before merging with the Yudeongcheon river.

Daejeon Hanbat Arboretum (Korean: 한밭수목원; Hanja: 한밭樹木園) is an urban park and arboretum in Daejeon Metropolitan City, located in Seo District at the confluence of the Yuseongcheon and Gap rivers. Covering 387,000 sq/m (96 acres), it is the largest manmade urban arboretum in Korea, and one of the most popular attractions in Daejeon, with nearly 1 million annual visitors.

City Hall Station (Korean: 시청역; Hanja: 市廳驛) is a station of the Daejeon Metro Line 1 in Dunsan-dong, Seo District, Daejeon, South Korea.

The Daejeon Museum of Art (Korean: 대전시립미술관; or Daejeon Metropolitan Museum of Arts) is located at 396 Mannyeon-dong, Seo-gu, across the river from the Expo Science Park, in Daejeon, South Korea. It opened on April 15, 1998.It has featured modern art from both domestic and foreign artists. Shows have included "The Horizen [sic] of Daejeon Art" (local art, featuring Cho Pyung-hwi and An Chi-in) and The Exhibition of Park Seung-moo.

Tanbang Station (Korean: 탄방역; Hanja: 炭坊驛) is a station of the Daejeon Metro Line 1 in Tanbang-dong, Seo District, Daejeon, South Korea.

The Military Manpower Administration (MMA; Korean: 병무청; Hanja: 兵務廳; RR: Byeongmu cheong) is a government agency in South Korea under the Ministry of National Defense. Its headquarters is in Seo District, Daejeon.It has a Physical Reexamination Center in Daegu and a call center in Daejeon.It gathers and manages information about 8.01 million South Koreans (16.8% of the total population), in order to facilitate conscription and wartime mobilization.

The Lee Ungno Museum (Korean: 이응노미술관) is an art museum in Daejeon, South Korea focusing on Korean-born French painter and printmaker Lee Ungno.

Government Complex, Daejeon station (Korean: 정부청사역; Hanja: 政府廳舍驛) is a station of the Daejeon Metro Line 1 in Dunsan-dong, Seo District, Daejeon, South Korea. It is located between City Hall Station and Kalma Station of Daejeon City Railway Line 1. It is 10.76 kilometres (6.69 mi) away from Panam. On the southern side of the station are the Bank of Korea, Eulji University Hospital, Seo-gu Office, and Sunmori Park.

Seo District (Korean: 서구; RR: Seo-gu) is a gu ("district") of Daejeon, South Korea. Daejeon Metropolitan City Hall is also located there.This is a self-governing district located in the southwestern part of Daejeon Metropolitan City. It serves as the central hub of the city, hosting several major developments such as Dunsan New Town, Gwanjeo District, and Doan New Town.
