University town inner ring

Guangzhou Higher Education Mega Center (HEMC), Guangzhou University Town or Guangzhou University City (Chinese: 广州大学城) is an area featured by higher education institutions, located on Xiaoguwei Island (Chinese: 小谷围岛) in Panyu District, Guangzhou, China. It was opened in 2004. With an area of approximately 17.9 km2 and 3.53 millions square meters of indoor space, the complex is capable of accommodating 350 to 400 thousand people.

The Guangzhou Higher Education Mega Center Central Stadium (Chinese: 广州大学城体育中心; pinyin: Guǎngzhōu dàxuéchéng tǐyù zhōngxīn) is a stadium situated in the Guangzhou Higher Education Mega Center, Guangzhou, Guangdong province, China. It is used mostly for association football, but also for athletics, rugby union and rugby sevens.

Xiaoguwei, formerly known in English as French Island, is an island in the Pearl River Delta of China's Guangdong Province. It is now administered as part of Xinzao (新造镇), a town in Guangzhou's Panyu District. The Guangzhou Higher Education Mega Center now occupies the entire island.

Luoxi Island (Chinese: 洛溪岛) is an island in Dashi Town (大石镇), Panyu District, Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province,China. It is located in the northeast of Nanpu Island to the south of Haizhu Island and to the west of Xiaoguwei Island. It is about 9.85 square kilometres (3.80 sq mi) in area and connects to the Guangzhou urban area via the Luoxi Bridge (洛溪大桥), Xinguang Bridge (新光大桥) and Panyu Bridge (番禺大桥).

Higher Education Mega Center North Station (Chinese: 大学城北站) is a station of Line 4 of the Guangzhou Metro. It started operations on 26 December 2005. It is located at the underground of the north of Guangzhou Higher Education Mega Center, located on the Xiaoguwei Island in Xinzao Town (新造镇), Panyu District.
