Monaco, officially the Principality of Monaco, is a sovereign city-state and microstate on the French Riviera a few kilometres west of the Italian region of Liguria, in Western Europe, on the Mediterranean Sea. It is a semi-enclave bordered by France to the north, east and west. The principality is home to 38,682 residents, of whom 9,486 are Monégasque nationals; it is recognised as one of the wealthiest and most expensive places in the world.

The Prince's Palace of Monaco (French: Palais princier de Monaco; Monégasque: Palaçi principescu) is the official residence of the Sovereign Prince of Monaco. Built in 1191 as a Genoese fortress, during its long and often dramatic history it has been bombarded and besieged by many foreign powers. Since the end of the 13th century, it has been the stronghold and home of the Grimaldi family who first captured it in 1297.

Monaco City (French: Monaco-Ville [mɔnakɔ vil]; Monégasque: Mùnegu Autu) is the southcentral ward in the Principality of Monaco. Located on a headland that extends into the Mediterranean Sea, it is nicknamed The Rock (French: Le Rocher; Monégasque: A Roca). The name "Monaco City" is misleading: it is not itself a city, but a historical and statistical district.

The Municipality of Monaco (French: Commune de Monaco; Monégasque: Cumüna de Mùnegu) is the only administrative division of the Principality of Monaco, and is coterminous with the state as a whole. It borders France.

The Cathedral of Our Immaculate Lady (Latin: Cathedralis Templum de Nostra Domina Immaculata, French: Cathédrale de Notre-Dame-Immaculée), formerly called the Cathedral of Saint Nicholas (demolished in 1874), or informally the Cathedral of Monaco (French: Cathédrale de Monaco), is the Catholic cathedral of the Archdiocese of Monaco in Monaco-Ville, Monaco, where many of the Grimaldi Royal members are buried, including former Grace, Princess of Monaco and Rainier III.

The Oceanographic Museum (Musée océanographique) is a museum of marine sciences in Monaco-Ville, Monaco.This building is part of the Institut océanographique, which is committed to sharing its knowledge of the oceans.

The Lycée Albert Premier (Monegasque: Liçe̍ Albertu Imu) of Monaco (or the Albert 1st of Monaco High School) is a prestigious public secondary school founded in 1910 in the Principality of Monaco. The school offers courses according to the curriculum prescribed by the French Directorate of National Education, Youth and Sports.

The International School of Monaco (ISM) is an independent, co-educational, not-for-profit day school located in Monaco. Founded in 1994, ISM has over 800 students aged 3 to 18 years old, drawn from over 50 nationalities.ISM offers a bilingual education in English and French for students in the Primary School (Kindergarten to Year 6).

The Council of Government of Monaco is the Prince's governing body.It consists of six members:Minister of State, who chairs the council, and the five members (four counsellors and one delegate); he also has voting rights, and has control of both the police and military.Counsellor for Internal Affairs,Counsellor for Finance and Economy,Counsellor for Public Works, the Environment and Urban Planning,Counsellor for Social Affairs and health,Counsellor for Foreign Relations and Cooperation.

The Napoleon Museum in Monte Carlo, Monaco was a museum of artifacts which once belonged to the French Emperor Napoleon I.
