The Käthe Kollwitz Museum in Cologne owns the largest collections of works by the German artist Käthe Kollwitz (1867–1945) and has maintained close links with the Kollwitz family. The museum is owned and operated by the Kreissparkasse Köln savings bank.

The Excelsior Hotel Ernst with a view of Cologne Cathedral, the Dom, was built in 1863. Carl Ernst was the constructor and first owner of the hotel, which was formerly called "Hotel Ernst".A large part of the plot of the film "The Beggar of Cologne Cathedral" (silent film of 1927) plays in Cologne Hotel Excelsior, which is recognizable by the film recordings as a Hotel Excelsior Ernst.

In 1963, Michael Werner opened his first gallery, Werner & Katz, in Berlin, Germany with the first solo exhibition of Georg Baselitz. Galerie Michael Werner was later established in Cologne in 1969. Since then, Galerie Michael Werner has worked with several of the most important artists of the twentieth century.

The finials of Cologne Cathedral from the tops of the two towers (north and south towers) at a height of 149 to 157 metres. A copy of this finial in original size, but made of concrete, has stood below the steps in front of the west façade of the cathedral since 1991.

The Cisrhenian Republic (German: Cisrhenanische Republik) was a planned client state during the French Revolutionary Wars in 1797 on the Left Bank of the Rhine under occupation by France, where the Coup of 18 Fructidor caused a decision to annex the area instead.

The Basilica of the Holy Apostles (German: Basilika St. Aposteln, German pronunciation: [ˌzaŋt ʔaˈpɔstl̩n], Colognian pronunciation: [ˌtsɪnt ʔaˈpɔsˑtəl]) is a Romanesque church in Cologne (Köln), located near Innenstadt's busy Neumarkt (Köln). The former collegiate church is dedicated to the twelve Apostles.

The Cologne Cathedral quarter (German: Domumgebung) is the area immediately surrounding Cologne Cathedral in Cologne, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. When the Gothic cathedral was built, it was closely surrounded by houses and smaller churches. When the cathedral was completed in 1880 as a national symbol, it was freed from adjacent structures and stood isolated, unhampered by traffic.

The Antoniterkirche is a Gothic church building on the Schildergasse in central Cologne, Germany, named after the Hospital Brothers of St. Anthony who founded it between 1350 and 1370–1378. Now used by the Protestant Church, it is the second most-visited church in the city after Cologne Cathedral. The Resistance fighter Freya von Moltke was baptised there.

Hohe Straße is a shopping street in the old town of Cologne, Germany, and one of the city's both oldest and busiest streets. Together with many of its adjacent side streets, Hohe Straße is part of a designated pedestrian zone and spans about 680 metres from Cologne Cathedral on its Northern end to Schildergasse on its Southern end.
