Al Shindagha (Arabic: الشندغة), sometimes spelled Al Shindagah or Al Shindaga, is a neighbourhood in the traditional centre of the city of Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. It has undergone major restoration works, to revive the historic area and its buildings.From 1912 to 1958, the then ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Saeed bin Maktoum, lived in the area.

Al Ras (Arabic: اَلـرَّأْس, romanized: Ar-Ra’s, "The Cape") is a locality in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates. It is the westernmost locality in the area of Deira and borders the Dubai Creek to the west and south, and Al Dhagaya and Al Buteen to the east. Al Ras, literally meaning The Cape, is one of the oldest communities in Deira.

Al Buteen (Arabic: البطين) is a locality in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE). Al Buteen is located in eastern Dubai, in Deira and is bounded to its west by Al Ras, its east by Al Sabkha and its north by Al Dhagaya. Dubai Creek forms the southern periphery of the locality. Al Buteen is located between Old Baladiya Street (110th Road) and 21st Street.

Al Ras Public Library (aka the Dubai Central Public Library) is the oldest library in Dubai, UAE, opened in 1963. It is located in Al Ras, Deira.Al Ras Public Library was the first public library in Dubai, inaugurated by Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum in 1963. The library includes more than 100,000 books in a number of languages and over 170 periodicals.

Dubai Spice Souk (Arabic: سوق التوابل) or the Old Souk is a traditional market (or souk) in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE). The Spice Souk is located in Deira, in eastern Dubai, and is adjacent to the Dubai Gold Souk. The Spice Souk is in the locality of Al Ras, on Baniyas Street, near the Old Souk abra station on Dubai Creek.

Dubai Municipality (Arabic: بلدية دبي) is the Government of Dubai municipal body with jurisdiction over city services and the upkeep of facilities in the Emirate of Dubai, United Arab Emirates and reports directly to the Dubai Executive Council. The agency is led by a Director-General that sits at the Dubai Executive Council.

The Museum of the Poet Al Oqaili is a museum located in Dubai, United Arab Emirates dedicated to the Saudi-born poet Mubarak bin Hamad bin Mubarak Al Manea Al Oqaili. The museum is the former residence of Al Oqaili and was built in 1923 on the edge of the Spice Souq, and he lived in it after he moved from Saudi Arabia to the UAE.
