The Como-Harriet Streetcar Line (CHSL) is a heritage streetcar line in Minneapolis, Minnesota, which follows original streetcar right-of-way between Lake Harriet and Bde Maka Ska and is operated by the Minnesota Streetcar Museum. The heritage line was originally developed in the 1970s by the Minnesota Transportation Museum which spun off streetcar operations in the winter of 2004–2005.

The Beach Club Residences (formerly, Calhoun Beach Club) is an apartment community, health club, and commercial center in Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States, just across Lake Street from its namesake Lake Calhoun (now called Bde Maka Ska). Its founders intended the club to meet their residential, recreational, and entertainment needs in one building.

Amateur Chick Evans led wire-to-wire and set a new U.S. Open scoring record to win his only U.S. Open title, two strokes ahead of runner-up Jock Hutchison.There were 94 entries and on-site qualifying was held and only the defending champion was exempt.

The Bde Maka Ska Public Art Project is part of the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board's Bde Maka Ska–Harriet Master Plan. In parallel with (but separate from) the restoring the name of Lake Calhoun to its Dakota name, Bde Maka Ska, a public art project was initiated to commemorate Ḣeyata Oṭuŋwe, a 19th-century Dakota agricultural community on the southeast bank of Bde Maka Ska, and its founder, Dakota leader Maḣpiya Wic̣aṡṭa (Cloud Man).

The Bakken Museum ( BAH-kən) is a science museum located in Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States. This science museum was founded by Earl Bakken, the co-founder of Medtronic in 1975. The museum features interactive exhibits about science, technology, and the humanities. The museum features an extensive exhibit centered on Mary Shelley's novel Frankenstein.

The Minikahda Club is a private country club in southwest Minneapolis, Minnesota. The club is located just west of Bde Maka Ska and is the oldest country club west of the Mississippi River. The clubhouse, which is situated on a high hill, overlooks the lake and has expansive views of the surrounding area and the Minneapolis skyline.

East Bde Maka Ska is a neighborhood within the Calhoun-Isles community in the U.S. city of Minneapolis. It was formerly known as East Calhoun prior to August 2021. The neighborhood is located south of the East Isles neighborhood and its northern portion along with parts of the East Isles, Lowry Hill East, and South Uptown neighborhoods forms the city's Uptown district.
