Conover to Newton

Catawba County Courthouse is a historic courthouse building located at Newton, Catawba County, North Carolina. It was built in 1924, and is a two-story, Renaissance Revival style granite veneered structure. It consists of a two-story main block flanked by slightly recessed two-story wings.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.

Concordia College was a Lutheran college and high school in Conover, North Carolina. Founded as a high school by members of the Evangelical Lutheran Tennessee Synod in 1878, it added college courses in 1881. The English Evangelical Lutheran Synod of Missouri and Other States took over control of the school in 1893.

Discovery High School is part of Newton-Conover City Schools and is one of the two high schools in the district, alongside Newton-Conover High School. Founded in 2005, it was created through a partnership grant with the North Carolina New Schools Project and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. As of 2021, The school has 211 students on roll in grades 9–12.

The district includes the remaining buildings of the Jerome Bolick & Sons Company buggy works and four houses with accompanying outbuildings which were erected by members of the Bolick family.
