Huế (Vietnamese: [hwě] (listen)) is the capital of Thừa Thiên Huế province in central Vietnam and was the capital of Đàng Trong from 1738 to 1775 and of Vietnam during the Nguyễn dynasty from 1802 to 1945. The city served as the old Imperial City and administrative capital for the Nguyễn dynasty and later functioned as the administrative capital of the protectorate of Annam during the French Indochina period.

Huế University (Vietnamese: Đại học Huế) is a public, research-oriented university located in Huế, the former imperial capital of Vietnam; it is one of the important regional universities of Vietnam. In Vietnam, universities are classified into three classes: national university (Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam National University, Hanoi), regional university (Thái Nguyên University, The University of Da Nang and Hue University) and university.

Hue Central Hospital (HCH), established in 1894, has been the first Western hospital in Vietnam. The hospitals, providing 3939 beds and occupying 190,000 square meters (included Base 2), is one of three biggest in the country along with Bach Mai Hospital in Hanoi and Chợ Rẫy Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City, and is managed by the Ministry of Health.

Báo Quốc Temple (Vietnamese: Chùa Báo Quốc) is a Buddhist temple in the historic city of Huế in central Vietnam. It was one of the three national temples of the city during the time of the Nguyễn dynasty.The temple is located on Báo Quốc Street, in the ward of Phường Đúc in Huế. It lies on the southern side of the Perfume River and is approximately one kilometre west of the city centre.

The Hue College of Foreign Languages (Vietnamese: Trường Đại học Ngoại ngữ Huế) is a college established in 2004 in Huế, Vietnam. It is part of Huế University.

Bắc Trung Bộ (literally North Central Region, and often translated as North Central Coast) is one of the geological regions of Vietnam. It consists of six provinces in northern part of Central Vietnam: Thanh Hóa, Nghệ An, Hà Tĩnh, Quảng Bình, Quảng Trị, Thừa Thiên–Huế. The last two provinces were the northernmost provinces of State of Vietnam and South Vietnam until 1976.

Phú Xuân (富春) was the historic capital of the Nguyễn lords, the Tây Sơn dynasty, and later became the Nguyễn dynasty's capital (renamed Huế).

Archdiocese (Metropolitan) of Huế (Latin: Archidioecesis Huéensis) is a Roman Catholic Archdiocese in central Vietnam.The creation of the diocese in its present form was declared on 24 November 1960. It covers an area of 12,227 km² and headed by Archbishop Joseph Nguyễn Chí Linh (from 2016), who was previously the Bishop of Thanh Hóa.

Thế Miếu (Chữ Hán: 世廟), also called Thế Tổ Miếu (Chữ Hán: 世祖廟), is an ancestral temple to Vietnam's emperors in the Imperial City, Huế.
