Xiamen University (Chinese: 厦门大学; pinyin: Xiàmén Dàxué; Southern Min: Ē-mn̂g-toā-o̍h), colloquially known as Xia Da (Chinese: 厦大), is a national public research university in Xiamen, Fujian, China.Founded in 1921 by Tan Kah Kee, a Chinese patriotic expatriate businessman in Singapore, the university has been perennially regarded as one of the top academic institutions in Southern China, with strengths in mathematics, chemistry, oceanography, economics, management, law, communication and political science.

Siming District is an urban district of the city of Xiamen, Fujian province, China. It includes the territory of the old town of Xiamen and the government offices of the modern sub-provincial city.

Shimao Cross-Strait Plaza (Chinese: 世茂海峡大厦; pinyin: Shìmào Hǎixiá Dàshà), also known as Shimao Straits Tower, Shimao MO Sky Mansion, and Xiamen Shimao Straits Mansion, is a skyscraper complex in Xiagang, Siming District, Xiamen, People's Republic of China. The project was completed in 2015, and the architect was Gensler.
