The Lame Horse fire occurred on 5 December 2009, around 1 a.m. local time in the nightclub Khromaya Loshad (Russian: «Хромая лошадь», "Lame Horse") at 9 Kuybyshev Street, Perm, Russia. The fire started when sparks from pyrotechnics ignited the low ceiling and its willow twig covering. The fire quickly spread to the walls and damaged the building's electrical wiring, causing the lights to fail.156 people died as a result of the fire.

Perm Governorate (Russian: Пермская губерния) was an administrative unit of the Russian Empire and the Soviet Union from 1781 to 1923. It was also known as the government of Perm. It was located on both slopes of the Ural Mountains, and its administrative center was the city of Perm. The region gave its name to the Permian period.

The Meshkov Mansion (Russian: Дом Мешкова), also known as the Meshkov House, is a historic building in Perm, Perm Krai, Russia. Built between 1887 and 1889, the building served a number of roles through its history. The mansion is currently occupied by the Perm Regional Museum's main branch.

Until 1 December 2005, Perm Oblast (Russian: Пе́рмская о́бласть) was a federal subject of Russia (an oblast) in Privolzhsky (Volga) Federal District. According to the results of the referendum held in October 2004, Perm Oblast was merged with Komi-Permyak Autonomous Okrug to form Perm Krai.It was established in 1938 as part of the RSFSR.

Perm State Institute of Culture (PSIC; Russian: Пермский государственный институт культуры; ПГИК, Permskiy gosudarstvennyy institut kul'tury; PGIK) is a state institution of higher education in Volga Federal District of Russia located in the city of Perm, the administrative centre of Perm Krai. This is the only musical institution of higher education in the region.

The Perm Central Mosque (Russian: Пермская соборная мечеть) was built in 1902 and 1903 in the Tatar district of Perm, Russia. Its construction was financed by the local Tatar merchant families. The striped green-and-white building with a tapering minaret was designed by Alexander Ozhegov. For some years it was the northernmost mosque in the world until superseded by the Nord Kamal Mosque in Norilsk.

Permyak Salty Ears (Russian: Пермяк солёные уши) is a 2006 urban sculpture by Rustam Ismagilov in the city of Perm, Russia. The sculpture consists of two parts - the figure of the photographer and a round frame with large ears, in which those who wish to pose for a photograph can put their faces. This is similar to a photo stand-in.

The Perm Regional Museum, also known as the Perm Museum of Local Lore, is a museum located in Perm, Perm Krai, Russia. Founded in 1890, the museum is the oldest and largest museum in Perm. The museum maintains a number of permanent and temporary exhibitions and is a tourist attraction.
