The Looking Glass River in the U.S. state of Michigan is a river flowing through the central region of the Lower Peninsula. It is about 71 miles (114 km) long, has no dams, and borders many wetlands and woodlots.

Portland is a city in Ionia County of the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 3,883 at the 2010 census. The city is situated in the south central portion of Portland Township and is known as the "City of Two Rivers" since it is the confluence of the Grand River and the Looking Glass River. Portland is home to Portland Public Schools and Portland Saint Patrick Catholic School and has been a Main Street Community since 2003.

The Portland First Congregational Church is a historic church located at 421 E. Bridge Street in Portland, Michigan. The original Greek Revival style church was built in 1853 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984. In 2015, the church was demolished by a tornado; it was rebuilt in 2016 in a style true to the original.

The Portland Downtown Historic District is a primarily commercial historic district located along Kent and Maple Streets, between Academy Street and the Looking Glass River, in Portland, Michigan. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.

Bridge Street Bridge, also known as Veterans Memorial Bridge, is a two-span Pratt through truss bridge that crosses the Grand River in Portland, Michigan, in the United States. Completed in 1890, it is the oldest known surviving example of a truss bridge built in the state by the Groton Bridge and Manufacturing Company.

Portland High School is a former public high school located at 306 Brush Street in Portland, Michigan. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2016. The building has been converted into apartments, known as the Portland School Apartments.

St. Patrick High School is a private, Roman Catholic high school in Portland, Michigan. It is located in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Grand Rapids.St. Patrick School was established as a grade school in 1906 by the Sisters of St. Joseph. The high school was added in 1951. The school currently teaches preschool through high school.
