Gapcheon Road

Daedeok Innopolis, formerly known as Daedeok Science Town, is the research and development district in the Yuseong-gu district in Daejeon, South Korea. Daedeok Innopolis grew out of the research cluster established by President Park Chunghee in 1973 with the opening of the KAIST. Over 20 major research institutes and over 40 corporate research centers make up this science cluster.

Daejeon Hanbat Arboretum (Korean: 한밭수목원; Hanja: 한밭樹木園) is an urban park and arboretum in Daejeon Metropolitan City, located in Seo District at the confluence of the Yuseongcheon and Gap rivers. Covering 387,000 sq/m (96 acres), it is the largest manmade urban arboretum in Korea, and one of the most popular attractions in Daejeon, with nearly 1 million annual visitors.

Yuseong District (Yuseong-gu) is a gu ("district") of Daejeon, South Korea, known for high tech industries, Daejeon Expo '93, Daedeok Science Town and the Yuseong Special Tourism District. Daejeon Islamic Center is also located in Kung-dong, Yuseong-gu. The Science Town is the core of the International Science and Business Belt.

The Institute for Basic Science (IBS; Korean: 기초과학연구원) is a Korean government-funded research institute that conducts basic science research and relevant pure basic research. IBS was established in November 2011 by the Lee Myung-bak administration as a research institute, later be a core of the International Science and Business Belt (ISBB) upon relocation of their headquarters from a rented property to their own campus in January 2018 using land reclaimed from the Taejŏn Expo '93 in Expo Science Park.

Taejon Expo '93 was a three-month international exposition held between Saturday, August 7, 1993 and Sunday, November 7, 1993 in the central South Korean city of Daejeon (at the time spelled "Taejŏn").

Expo Science Park is a science park in Yuseong-gu to the north of Daejeon, South Korea, built for Taejŏn Expo '93. Facilities at Expo Park included a garden, amusement park, and observation tower. While the tower and some buildings remain, most of the expo buildings have now been removed. As of 2018, the site is hosting the headquarters complex for the Institute for Basic Science.

The National Science Museum is a national science museum in Daejeon, South Korea. It first opened in Seoul in 1926 and became a national museum in 1949. It moved to its current location in 1990 which is across the street from Expo Park which housed the Daejeon Expo in 1993. It received 1,795,076 visitors in 2017.

Daejeon Science High School for the Gifted (DSHS, Korean: 대전과학고등학교) is located in Daejeon, South Korea. It was founded in 1984. The school is for gifted students with talents in mathematics and sciences.The graduates of the school usually go to science or engineering schools in Seoul National University, KAIST and other prestigious universities in Korea and in the world, and also medical schools in Korea.
