Belfairs Academy (formerly Belfairs High School) is a non-selective secondary school with academy status in Leigh-on-Sea, Essex.

Chalkwell is a mid-density suburb of Southend-on-Sea, a town and unitary district in Essex, England. It faces the Thames Estuary and is in traditional terms still part of Westcliff-on-Sea, which is also its post town. Belton Hills is a 22 hectare Local Nature Reserve in Leigh-on-Sea in Essex. It is owned and managed by Southend-on-Sea Borough Council.This steeply sloping site has large areas of scrub, and there are some rare plant and invertebrates species. Plants include Deptford pink (flowering June-August) and bithynian vetch (flowering May–June), and a survey in 2001 recorded 667 invertebrate taxa.

HMS Wilton (M1116) was a prototype coastal minesweeper/minehunter for the Royal Navy. She was the first warship in the world to be constructed from glass-reinforced plastic (GRP). Her design was based upon the existing Ton-class minesweepers, and she was fitted with equipment recovered from the scrapped HMS Derriton.
