The Walthamstow Pumphouse Museum is a museum based in Walthamstow, north-east London, it is contained in and around Low Hall Pumping Station, a Grade II listed building that was originally a sewage pumping station built in 1885.The museum focuses on the pioneering achievements in road, rail, air and sea transport in Waltham Forest and the surrounding area from the early 19th century.

Vestry House Museum is a history museum in Walthamstow, focusing on the heritage of the local area. The collection includes various artifacts dating from the Victorian Era to the 20th Century including numerous archived documents and photographs.Vestry House was originally built as a workhouse and was later used as a police station and also as private housing (amongst the exhibits is a replica police cell demonstrating one of the building's previous uses).

Walthamstow School for Girls is single sex girls' secondary school situated in Walthamstow, London. It currently educates 900 girls between the ages of 11–16.Locally, the school is known as 'Green School'. It is close to Walthamstow Central and the Prime Meridian.

Bakers Arms is an intersection and arguably a district on the boundary of Leyton and Walthamstow, in the London Borough of Waltham Forest. It is named after a former public house which stood at the junction of High Road Leyton, Hoe Street (both A112) and Lea Bridge Road (A104). The pub's name was derived from the nearby almshouses for members of London's baking trade, which were completed in 1866.

17&Central is a shopping centre in Walthamstow, London, owned by Capital & Regional. It was formerly known as Selborne Walk Shopping Centre and The Mall Walthamstow.

Beaumont Road is a housing estate located in Leyton in East London. It is the largest housing estate in the borough of Waltham Forest, and is now the last high rise estate (with 20-plus-storey towers) in Leyton. All neighbouring high rise estates (Oliver Close estate, Cathall, Boundary Road estate and Livingstone College estate) have been demolished.

Central Parade, on the corner of Hoe Street and Church Hill, Walthamstow, is a shopping parade with offices and flats above that is Grade II listed by Historic England. It was designed in 1954 by F. G. Southgate, the borough surveyor, and built in 1957–58. Historic England says that it "embodies the Festival [of Britain] style, blending pattern and colour, surface decoration, slender detailing and lively rhythmical modelling with conviction and élan".

The Coroner's Court for east London is located at Queens Road, Walthamstow. The court covers the boroughs of Waltham Forest, Newham, Redbridge, Havering and Barking and Dagenham.

Walthamstow Market, in the London Borough of Waltham Forest, is the longest (though not the largest) outdoor market in Europe. It occupies all but the last 100 metres (330 ft) of Walthamstow's High Street. It is reputed to be a mile long, but in fact measures approximately one kilometre.

Walthamstow School of Art was an art school based in Walthamstow, north-east London. It eventually became part of Waltham Forest College.In 1883, an art school was created by the Walthamstow Literary Institute. It was initially based at the Trinity School, in West Avenue, which was connected with the Science and Art Department, in South Kensington.
