Hong Kong Trail - Section 8 (Dragon’s Back)

The Dragon's Back (Chinese: 龍脊) is a mountain ridge in southeastern Hong Kong Island, Hong Kong that passes through Shek O Peak. It lies within the Shek O Country Park. In 2019, the Dragon's Back Trail was selected by CNN as one of the world's 23 best trails. Dragon's Back is part of Stage 8 of the Hong Kong Trail.

Big Wave Bay or Tai Long Wan (大浪灣) is a bay in the Southern District of Hong Kong. It is located on the eastern coast of Hong Kong Island, south of Cape Collinson and north of Shek O. This bay should not be confused with the bay with the same name in Sai Kung.Big Wave Bay has a beach popular among surfers.

Big Wave Bay Beach is a gazetted beach next to Big Wave Bay, Shek O, Southern District, Hong Kong. The beach has barbecue pits and is managed by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department of the Hong Kong Government. The beach is 86 metres long and is rated as Grade 1 by the Environmental Protection Department for its water quality.

Hong Kong Buddhist Cemetery is a private cemetery located in Cape Collinson, on Hong Kong Island, Hong Kong. It is managed by The Hong Kong Buddhist Association (香港佛教聯合會). The cemetery was completed and opened in 1963.

Shek O Country Park is a rural marine park located on Shek O, Southern District, Hong Kong and facing the South China Sea. The 701-hectare park opened on 21 September 1979.Urban hiking is extremely popular here, there are three exceptional hiking trails, one of which Tme Magsine Asia declared the best urban hiking trail in Asia, the Dragon's Back.

Tai Tam Gap Correctional Institution (Chinese: 大潭峽懲教所) is a prison in Eastern District, Hong Kong, operated by Hong Kong Correctional Services.The Standard stated that it was in Shek O.It opened on 1 May 1980. At the time, it was a prison for young girls and women. 14 was the minimum age.In 2020, the prison service announced that it would make Tai Tam Gap the first "smart prison" in the territory.

Pottinger Peak (Chinese: 砵甸乍山) is a mountain on the eastern side of Hong Kong Island. It is located south of Chai Wan and Siu Sai Wan and north of Big Wave Bay. Initially known as Ma Tong Peak, it was renamed Pottinger Peak after Henry Pottinger, the first Governor of Hong Kong. The peak is 312m above sea level.
