Basic Methven Walkway 6.25

Start near the Mobil Service Station,walk S to Puddinghill Road using the footpath.Then W along to a sweeping corner & go right onto a gravelled lime-chip path with seats,ducks,magpies & views of Mt Hutt & the Craigieburn Ramge.Moving along Mts Winterslow Mt Somers & Mt Peel loom intp view.When you get to a road bridge,turn right along the man-mafe Rangitata Diversion Tace which uses gravity to take water from the Rangitata River to the Rakaia River using it for irrigation & power generation.Turn right,heading E through the tall trees until getting to the Hot Pools entrance & turn right going S back your starting place.
