Surf City to Barnegat Light

Barnegat Lighthouse State Park is located on the northern tip of Long Beach Island in Ocean County, New Jersey, United States. The area where the lighthouse stands was regarded as one of the most important navigational points for ships bound to and from New York Harbor. The ships were dependent upon the Barnegat Lighthouse to avoid the shoals extending from the shoreline.

As of the 2010 United States Census, the borough's population was 337, reflecting a decline of 22 (-6.1%) from the 359 counted in the 2000 Census, which had in turn declined by 3 (-0.8%) from the 362 counted in the 1990 Census. The borough borders the Atlantic Ocean on Long Beach Island.

The Barnegat Light Public School was the one-room schoolhouse for the borough of Barnegat Light, Ocean County, New Jersey, United States, from 1903 until June 15, 1951. It became the Barnegat Light Historical Society Museum in 1954.Among other things, the museum houses the first degree Fresnel lens from Barnegat Lighthouse.

Camp Whelen, a Christian summer camp for young girls, was founded in the early 1920s after the former Harvey Cedars Hotel was purchased by the Philadelphia YWCA.Camp Whelen survived until the Depression. After shutting down due to declining attendance, the hotel was abandoned for about 10 years. After this, it was purchased and turned into Harvey Cedars Bible Conference.

Surf City is a borough in Ocean County, New Jersey, United States. Communities served by the district are Barnegat Light, Harvey Cedars, Long Beach Township, Ship Bottom and Surf City.

Harvey Cedars Hotel is the last remaining historic hotel of its size located on Long Beach Island, in the town of Harvey Cedars, NJ. It began as a house constructed by Sylvanus Cox between "soon after the War of 1812" and 1837. In 1841, Captain Samuel Perrine purchased and expanded the house into "Connahassatt House at Harvest Cedars," which served as a boarding house for fishermen and duck hunters.

Harvey Cedars Bible Conference is a Christian conference and retreat center in Harvey Cedars, New Jersey, including a hotel, a dock and sport facilities.
