The Octagon House, also known as May's Folly, is a historic octagon house at 527 1st Avenue in Columbus, Georgia. Built about 1830 and enlarged in 1863, it is claimed by the local historical society to be the nation's only known example of a double-octagon house. It was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1973.

First National Bank, also known as Bank of Columbus, is a historic building in Columbus, Georgia. It is a cast iron office building built for the Bank of Columbus at cost of $50,000 and used by the bank during 1860–66. After the bank apparently went bankrupt, the building was bought at auction for $28,000 by the Georgia Home Insurance Company.

First opened February 21, 1871, the theater was named the State Theatre of Georgia by Governor Jimmy Carter for its 100th anniversary season, a designation made permanent by the 1992 state legislature. The Springer has hosted legendary performers such as Edwin Booth, Oscar Wilde, Ethel Barrymore, Agnes de Mille, and bandleader John Philip Sousa.
