The Red Castle Museum, also known as As-saraya Al-hamra Museum (Arabic: متحف السرايا الحمراء‎), the Archaeological Museum of Tripoli or Jamahiriya Museum, is a national museum in Libya. It is located in the historic building known as the Red Castle of Tripoli (Arabic: السراي الحمراء‎), sometimes also referred to as Red Saraya, on the promontory above and adjacent to the old-town district with medina Ghadema.

It has been the home of the Red Castle Museum (under various names) since 1919, and of the Libyan Department of Archaeology since 1952.

The Sidi Darghut Mosque or Jama Sidi Darghut (Arabic: جامع درغوت باشا‎) is a mosque in Tripoli, Libya. It was built in around 1560 by Dragut on the site of a Hospitaller church, parts of which were incorporated into the mosque. The mosque was damaged in World War II but it was subsequently repaired, although the reconstruction was not completely faithful to its original design.

The Battle and massacre at Shar al-Shatt (Arabic: شارع الشط‎ Shār’ ash-Shaṭ; Sciara Sciat in Italian) occurred on 23 October 1911 in the village of Shar al-Shatt on the outskirts of Tripoli, Libya during the Italo-Turkish War. Five hundred three (503) Italian officers and men were killed in the fighting and the massacre of soldiers who had surrendered.

A series of massacres were committed by Ottoman and Italian forces during the Italo-Turkish War. In October 1911, Ottoman forces massacred captured Italian troops at Sciara Sciat (Arabic: Shar al-Shatt). In reprisal, Italian troops massacred several thousand civilians in the Mechiya oasis.
