Brandywine Park More

Brandywine Park was the first city park established by the city of Wilmington, Delaware. It is located on the banks of Brandywine Creek, between Augustine Road and North Market Street. The park was established in 1886, and was designed by Samuel Canby, the city's parks commissioner, in consultation with Frederick Law Olmsted.

Brandywine Zoo is a small 4.7-acre (1.9 ha) zoo that opened in 1905 in Brandywine Park in Wilmington, Delaware, United States. It is located on the banks of the Brandywine River. The zoo is managed by the Delaware Division of Parks and Recreation and supported by the Delaware Zoological Society. It is usually open daily, 10AM - 4PM, weather permitting.

Abessinio Stadium (formerly Baynard Stadium and Baynard Field) is a state-of-the-art 20,000 sf athletic and cultural venue located off W. 18th Street along the westerly boundary of Brandywine Park in Wilmington, Delaware. Originally a gift from Samuel H. Baynard, then president of the Board of Park Commissioners, “Baynard Field” first opened on June 10, 1922, and contained two baseball fields and a running track in its original configuration.

The Baynard Boulevard Historic District is a national historic district located at Wilmington, New Castle County, Delaware. It encompasses 77 contributing buildings with examples of Colonial Revival, Tudor Revival, and Queen Anne architecture. The area developed after being laid out in 1893, and is a prime example of a turn-of-the-20th-century American suburb, or "streetcar suburb." The dwellings date between 1895 and 1930.

Salesianum School is a Roman Catholic independent school for boys located in Wilmington, Delaware. It is run independently within the Roman Catholic Diocese of Wilmington and is operated by the Oblates of St. Francis de Sales. The current enrollment is about 930 students, declining from a peak of about 1,100 in recent years, from Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.

Wilmington State Parks is a state park located in Wilmington, Delaware. Open year round, the park is approximately 345 acres (140 ha) of land mostly situated along the Brandywine Creek. The state park is made up of a group of smaller parks that are administratively managed as a single unit.Although much of the land comprising Wilmington State Parks is owned by the city of Wilmington, the park is operated and maintained by the Delaware Division of Parks and Recreation, a branch of the state's Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control.
