Laojie Creek

Zhongli District (Chinese: 中壢區; pinyin: Zhōnglì Qū) is a district in Taoyuan City, Taiwan. Zhongli is spelled variously as Jungli, Jongli, Jhongli or Chungli on railway, bus stop and road signs. Historically, the city is the site of the Zhongli Incident of 1977, the most significant event of the democratization movement prior to the 1980s.

The Zhongli Incident was a democracy movement in the Taiwanese town of Zhongli (now Zhongli District, Taoyuan City) in 1977, after a voter reported witnessing the Kuomintang rigging the election.

The Financial Star Building (Chinese: 世貿財星廣場; pinyin: Shìmào cái xīng guǎngchǎng) is a 30-story, 123.7 m (406 ft) skyscraper office building completed in 1993 and located in Zhongli District, Taoyuan, Taiwan. When the building was completed in 1993, it was the tallest building in Taoyuan city and it held the title for 19 years until it was overtaken by ChungYuet Royal Landmark in 2012.
