Winchester Walk

The Pilgrims' Trail is a 155-mile long-distance footpath that connects Winchester Cathedral in Hampshire, England to Mont Saint-Michel in Normandy.The UK section of the footpath passes through the towns of Owslebury and Bishop's Waltham as well as the Forestry Commission owned Forest of Bere. It ends at the Portsmouth ferry terminal.

Kingsgate is one of two surviving medieval gates to the city of Winchester, England (the other is the Westgate). The name was first recorded in 1148. The Itchen Navigation is a 10.4-mile (16.7 km) disused canal system in Hampshire, England, that provided an important trading route from Winchester to the sea at Southampton for about 150 years. Improvements to the River Itchen were authorised by Act of Parliament in 1665, but progress was slow, and the navigation was not declared complete until 1710.

St Maurice’s Church, Winchester was a parish church in the Church of England in Winchester, Hampshire.The parish was united with that of St Mary Kalendar and the old church was taken down in March 1840, rebuilt to designs by the architect William Gover of Winchester, and reopened on 21 July 1842, when it was consecrated by the Bishop of Winchester.
