Walk to the park marly

The Château de Marly was a French royal residence located in what is now Marly-le-Roi, the commune that existed at the northern edge of the royal park, itself situated west of the palace and garden complex at Versailles. Marly-le-Roi is the town that originally grew up in order to service the château, which is now demolished.

Marly-le-Roi is a commune in the Yvelines department in the Île-de-France region in north-central France. It is located in the western suburbs of Paris, 18.4 km (11.4 mi) from the centre of Paris.Marly-le-Roi was the location of the Château de Marly, the famous leisure residence of the Sun King Louis XIV which was destroyed after the French Revolution.

The Château du Verduron also known as the Château des Sphinx owes its original fame to Louis Blouin, who held the prominent position of head valet in the court of Louis XIV of France from 1704 until 1715. Other distinguished owners of the property included Victorien Sardou, the French dramatist and one-time mayor of the Parisian suburb of Marly-le-Roi.
