Chang'an Avenue (simplified Chinese: 长安街; traditional Chinese: 長安街; pinyin: Cháng'ān Jiē), literally "Eternal Peace Street", is a major thoroughfare in Beijing, China. It is often referred to as the Shili Changjie (simplified Chinese: 十里长街; traditional Chinese: 十里長街; pinyin: Shílǐ Chǎngjiē), meaning the Ten Li Long street.

The Beijing Hotel (simplified Chinese: 北京饭店; traditional Chinese: 北京飯店; pinyin: Běijīng Fàndiàn) is a five-star state-owned hotel complex in the Dongcheng District of Beijing, China. It is located at the southern end of Wangfujing Street, at the corner with East Chang'an Avenue, 1.5 km from Beijing railway station with views of the Forbidden City and part of Tiananmen Square.

Jianguomen (simplified Chinese: 建国门; traditional Chinese: 建國門; pinyin: Jiànguómén), or the "Gate of Construction of a nation" in English, was a gate in the city wall that once stood in Beijing and is now a transportation hub to the east of city centre. At Jianguomen bridge, the eastern 2nd Ring Road divides Jianguomen Inner Street to the west from Jianguomen Outer Street to the east.

The Battle of Gaoliang River was fought in 979 between the Liao Dynasty and Song Dynasty in what is today the city of Beijing. The Liao victory ended a Song campaign to recapture the Sixteen Prefectures in North China.After founding the Song Dynasty in 960, Emperor Taizong sought to recapture the sixteen prefectures, which the Khitan Liao Dynasty acquired in 936.

The Beijing Concert Hall (北京音乐厅; Beijing Yinyueting) is located on the Beixinhuajie in Xicheng District, near the west Chang'an Avenue, on the south of Liubukou.

The Chang'an Grand Theatre (长安大戏院), located on East Chang'an Avenue, is a theatre in Beijing that specializes in Peking Opera performances. Opened in 1996, the Chang'an Grand Theatre is a modern Peking Opera theatre which displays modern facilities such as advanced highlights, multi-functional stage and computer-controlled sound and light systems.

Dongdan (Chinese: 东单; pinyin: Dōngdān), literally "Eastern Single" or "Eastern Single Sign Gate" is the name of a crossing on Beijing's Chang'an Avenue and surrounding neighborhood. The name is derived from the single paifang or Chinese sign gate that once marked the intersection. In the checkerboard layout of Beijing, the Dongdan intersection in Dongcheng District to the east of the city centre, is balanced by Xidan or the "Western Single" in Xicheng District to the west of city centre.

Tank Man (also known as the Unknown Protester or Unknown Rebel) is the nickname of an unidentified Chinese man who stood in front of a column of tanks leaving Tiananmen Square on June 5, 1989, the morning after the Chinese military had suppressed the Tiananmen Square protests by force. As the lead tank maneuvered to pass by the man, he repeatedly shifted his position in order to obstruct the tank's attempted path around him.

Grand Hyatt Beijing (S: 北京东方君悦大酒店, T: 北京東方君悅大酒店, P: Běijīng Dōngfāng Jūnyuè Dàjiǔdiàn) is an 825-room luxury hotel Beijing, China that opened in 2001. It is located at the crossroads of Chang'an Avenue and Wangfujing, and is part of the Oriental Plaza – China’s largest commercial complex. There are a total of seven food and beverage outlets, including the 'Made in China', 'Noble Court', 'Grand Cafe', 'Da Giorgio' and 'Redmoon'.

Jianguomen Inner Street (simplified Chinese: 建国门内大街; traditional Chinese: 建國門內大街; pinyin: Jiànguómén Nèi Dàjiē) is a major street in urban Beijing. It forms part of the extended Chang'an Avenue.Its path begins after the Dongdan intersection heading east until Jianguomen Bridge.During its short run, it crosses with the intersection to the Beijing railway station.
