Green Chain Walk along Erith Riverside

Erith ( (listen)) is an area of south-east London, England, located 13.3 miles (21.4 km) east of Charing Cross. Historically part of Kent, it has formed part of the London Borough of Bexley since 1965. Erith is located to the north-east of Bexleyheath and north-west of Dartford, and lies on the south bank of the River Thames.

Belvedere is a town in the London Borough of Bexley, in the historic county of Kent and ceremonial county of Greater London. It lies South of the River Thames, East of Abbey Wood and Thamesmead, West of Erith, and North of Bexleyheath.

The London Outer Orbital Path — more usually the "London LOOP" — is a 150-mile (242 km) signed walk along public footpaths, and through parks, woods and fields around the edge of Outer London, England, described as "the M25 for walkers". The walk begins at Erith on the south bank of the River Thames and passes clockwise through Crayford, Petts Wood, Coulsdon, Banstead, Ewell, Kingston upon Thames, Uxbridge, Elstree, Cockfosters, Chingford, Chigwell, Grange Hill and Upminster Bridge before ending at Purfleet, almost directly across the Thames from its starting point.

Bexley College was a general further education college in the London Borough of Bexley, England with two campuses at Walnut Tree Road, Erith and Upper Holly Hill Road, Belvedere. On 1 August 2016, Bexley College merged with Bromley College of Further & Higher Education and Greenwich Community College to become London South East Colleges, Bexley Campus.

A level crossing beyond the platforms' western limits was closed prior to the westerly extension of platforms c. 1994 and the ticket office and passenger shelters were rebuilt soon afterwards.

Erith was a local government district in north west Kent from 1876 to 1965 around the town of Erith. It also included the generally suburban areas of Northumberland Heath, Belvedere, and parts of Barnehurst, Bexleyheath, Crayford and the SE2 London Postal District of Abbey Wood.The district was formed when the Local Government Act 1858 was adopted by the parish of Erith, and a Local Board was formed to govern the town.
