The Academy of Mary Immaculate is a Catholic girls' secondary school, situated in Fitzroy, Victoria, Australia.It was founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1857.

3CR is a community radio station that broadcasts on the AM band and on the digital spectrum as 3CR Digital in Melbourne, Australia. It features mainly talk-based programs with political (particularly trade unions) and environmental themes, as well as some music and community language-based programs. Today the station hosts over 130 programs presented by over 400 volunteers.

Cairo Flats is a heritage-listed apartment building in the Melbourne inner city suburb of Fitzroy. The building was designed in 1935 by architect Acheson Best Overend and built in 1936.It is a U-shaped, two story building comprising 28 individual residences. Overend was influenced by modernist architect Wells Coates and the "minimum flat concept".

It also has a satellite exhibition space, Gertrude Glasshouse, at 44 Glasshouse Rd, Collingwood. The gallery was previously located in the suburb of Fitzroy.

Fitzroy Town Hall is a civic building located in Napier Street in Fitzroy, a suburb of Melbourne, Australia.It was constructed in two separate stages. The first consisted of a hall and tower which was designed by William J. Ellis and built in 1863. Between 1887 and 1890 a new stage designed by George Johnson was added to this comprising municipal offices, a police station and a courthouse as well as extensions to the hall.

At the 2016 Census, Fitzroy had a population of 10,445. Planned as Melbourne's first suburbs in 1839, it was later also one of the city's first areas to gain municipal status, in 1858.
