The Loire

Orléanais (French pronunciation: ​[ɔʁleanɛ]) is a former province of France, around the cities of Orléans, Chartres, and Blois.The name comes from Orléans, its main city and traditional capital. The province was one of those into which France was divided before the French Revolution. It was the country around Orléans, the pagus Aurelianensis; it lay on both banks of the Loire, and for ecclesiastical purposes formed the diocese of Orléans.

The George V Bridge is a road and tram bridge that crosses the Loire in Orléans, France. It is an arched masonry bridge spanning a distance of 325 m. Designed by Jean Hupeau, it was built between 1751 and 1760, at the request of Daniel-Charles Trudaine, administrator and civil engineer. It was renamed in honour of King George V after the World War I out of respect of Britain's role in the war.

The Sandoz factory Orléans is a plant built for Sandoz Laboratories by famous architect Jean Tschumi. It was purchased by Marinopoulos in 2001.Then decommissioned in 2013 and bought by the city of Orléans to be distroyed and give way to an arena agains the majority of the population. As the project collapsed, the building was bought in 2015 by the métropole of Orléans Métropole which uses it to host startup companies.

The canton of Orléans-1 is an administrative division of the Loiret department, central France. It was created at the French canton reorganisation which came into effect in March 2015. Its seat is in Orléans.It consists of the following communes:Orléans (partly)
