Canning Town is a district in East London, England. It has formed part of the London Borough of Newham since 1965. It is located in the area of the former Royal Docks on the north side of the River Thames, and is the location of Rathbone Market. Canning Town was part of the ancient parish of West Ham in the county of Essex.

Ronan Point was a 22-storey tower block in Canning Town in Newham, East London, which partly collapsed on 16 May 1968, only two months after it had opened. A gas explosion blew out some load-bearing walls, causing the collapse of one entire corner of the building, which killed four people and injured 17.

Custom House for ExCeL is a Docklands Light Railway (DLR) and future Elizabeth line station in Custom House, Royal Docks in London, England. It is by the Royal Docks in London Borough of Newham. It is situated in Travelcard Zone 3. It takes its name from the old Custom House, which formerly stood nearby, and ExCeL London which it serves.

St Matthew's Church, Custom House was a Church of England church on Ethel Road in the Victoria Docks area of West Ham. It is named after its district, Custom House.It was built in 1860 as a mission church of St Mark's Church, Silvertown and paid for by Charles Morrison, chairman of the Dock company. It later became a mission church of St Luke's, before being turned into a parish of its own in 1920.

St Cedd's Church was a Church of England church between Newham Way, (front, original access, was Beckton Road at time of building) and Chadwin Road, (access after the development of the Newham Way in the 1960s) in Canning Town, east London, dedicated to Cedd, evangelist to Essex, in whose ceremonial county the church falls.

West Ham Stadium was a stadium that existed between 1928 and 1972 in Custom House, in East London (it was in the County Borough of West Ham, in the county of Essex, at the time of the stadium's construction). The stadium was built in 1928 on Prince Regent Lane, near the site of the present-day Prince Regent DLR station.
