Grays (or Grays Thurrock) is the largest town in the borough and unitary authority of Thurrock in Essex and one of Thurrock's traditional (Church of England) parishes. The town, on the north bank of the River Thames, is approximately 20 miles (32 km) to the east of central London, and 2 miles (3.2 km) east of the M25 motorway.

Grays railway station is on the London, Tilbury and Southend line serving the town of Grays, Essex. It is 19 miles 70 chains (32.0 km) down the line from London Fenchurch Street via Rainham and is located at the junction where a branch line from Upminster via Ockendon re-joins the route from Rainham.

The New Recreation Ground was a football stadium on Bridge Road, Grays, Essex, England, and was the home ground of Grays Athletic. Prior to it being closed, the capacity stood at 4,100, of which 1,000 was seated.Grays Athletic moved to the ground, originally known as the Recreation Ground in 1906. Previously the ground had been home to Southern League club Grays United, but they had merged into Athletic.

Grays Convent High School is a girls' Roman Catholic secondary school in Grays, Essex, England.It is a voluntary-aided school which has been awarded Beacon school status and is officially a specialist Language College.The College Avenue school was founded by the Sisters of La Sainte Union des Sacrés-Coeurs in 1906, expanding from the initial school in St Thomas's Church established in 1899.

Globe Pit is a 0.4 hectare geological Site of Special Scientific Interest in Little Thurrock in Essex. It is a Geological Conservation Review site.Natural England describes Globe Pit as "an important site for the interrelationship of archaeology with geology since it is vital in the correlation of the Lower Palaeolithic chronology with the Pleistocene Thames Terrace sequence".

The State Cinema is a Grade II* Listed building in Grays, Essex. It opened in 1938 as one of the most modern cinemas of its type at the time with seating for 2200 people. The cinema officially closed in 1988 but has held numerous events since including being used as a nightclub, however the building had fallen into disrepair and in 2019 was undergoing conversion into a pub.

The White Hart is a Grade II listed public house at Kings Walk, Grays, Essex, RM17 6HR.It was built in 1938 for Charringtons Brewery, and replaced an 18th-century building of the same name. The architect is believed to be Edward Fincham.It was Grade II listed in 2015 by Historic England.

The Dell is a house in Grays, Thurrock, Essex, built in concrete—one of the earliest houses in Britain to be built in this material. It was built on the instructions of Alfred Russel Wallace, who lived in Grays from 1872 until 1876.

Thurrock is a constituency represented in the House of Commons of the UK Parliament since 2010 by Jackie Doyle-Price, a Conservative.
