Hammersmith

Chiswick Eyot is a 3.266-acre (1.3 ha) narrow, uninhabited ait (river island) in the River Thames. It is a tree- and reed-covered rise on the Tideway by Chiswick, in the Borough of Hounslow, London, England and is overlooked by St Nicholas Church, Chiswick, the Mall (promenade street) of Hammersmith and by some of the Barnes riverside on the far bank.

Frederick Hitch, VC (29 November 1856 – 6 January 1913) was an English recipient of the Victoria Cross for his actions at the Battle of Rorke's Drift, the highest award for gallantry in the face of the enemy that can be awarded to British and Commonwealth forces.

Chiswick Bridge is a reinforced concrete deck arch bridge over the River Thames in West London. Walker was an important figure in the English Arts and Crafts movement, and a close friend of textile designer William Morris, who lived nearby.

Tideway Scullers School is a rowing club on the Tideway of the River Thames next to Chiswick Bridge in Chiswick, London.The club previously held the headship for the Head of the River Race (2009), the largest UK eights event, and the senior squad holds the record for the Head of the River Fours course.
