The Tiber (; Latin: Tiberis; Italian: Tevere [ˈteːvere]) is the third-longest river in Italy and the longest river in Central Italy, rising in the Apennine Mountains in Emilia-Romagna and flowing 406 kilometres (252 mi) through Tuscany, Umbria and Lazio, where it is joined by the river Aniene, to the Tyrrhenian Sea, between Ostia and Fiumicino.

Giovanni Battista Grassi (27 March 1854 – 4 May 1925) was an Italian physician and zoologist, best known for his pioneering works on parasitology, especially on malariology. He was Professor of Comparative Zoology at the University of Catania from 1883, and Professor of Comparative Anatomy at Sapienza University of Rome from 1895 until his death.

Isola Sacra (the Holy Isle) is situated in the Lazio region of Italy south of Rome, near the Tyrrhenian Sea. It is part of the town of Fiumicino.

The Isola Sacra Necropolis was the first large-scale pagan cemetery of Roman Imperial times to be excavated. The excavator-in-chief of most of Isola Sacra was Guido Calza. The necropolis was found on the manmade island of Isola Sacra, which lies between the cities of Portus and Ostia Antica, a region just south of Rome.

Tor San Michele, also known as Forte San Michele, is a coastal watchtower in Ostia, a frazione of the Municipality of Rome (Italy), rising near the mouth of the Tiber.Built during the 16th century to remedy the deviation of the river following a disastrous flood, it was first used as a customs office and a lookout and defense station, then as a lighthouse for the Ostia Seaplane Base, until it fell into disuse after the end of World War II.
