A walk around my Eastate

Howdon is a largely residential area in the eastern part of Wallsend, Tyne and Wear, England. It consists of High Howdon and the smaller settlement of East Howdon. Much of the High Howdon area was formerly called Willington prior to post-World War II urbanisation. The North Tyneside ward population at the 2011 Census was 11,129.

Howdon is a station on the Tyne and Wear Metro, serving Howdon in North Tyneside. The station joined the network in November 1982, following the opening of the line between Tynemouth and St. James.The original station at Howdon opened in 1839, under the Newcastle and North Shields Railway. This later became part of the North Tyneside Loop, served by the North Eastern Railway.

Churchill Community College is a mixed secondary school in Wallsend, Tyne and Wear, England. The College teaches students between the ages of 11-18 and is registered to provide SCITT training.

Willington is an area in the North Tyneside district, in the county of Tyne and Wear, England. It has an industrial estate.The place-name derives from Old English tun (homestead or farm) of Wifel's people, and appears in 1085 as Wiflintun, and as Wiuelington in 1204.
