The First Pavlov State Medical University of St. Petersburg (Russian: Первый Санкт-Петербургский государственный медицинский университет имени академика И. П. Павлова, ПСПбГМУ им. акад. И. П. Павлова) was established in 1897 in St. Petersburg, Russia, as the first Russian medical college for women. After its 123 years of history, it has become one of the leading medical colleges in Russia and the world.

Aptekarsky Island (Russian: Апте́карский о́стров, pronounced [ɐˈpʲtʲɛkərstkʲɪj ˈostrəf] ”Apothecary Island") is a relatively small island situated in the northern part of the Neva delta. It is separated from Petrogradsky Island by the Karpovka River, from Kamenny Island and Krestovsky Island by the Malaya Nevka and from the Vyborgskaya region of St-Petersburg by the Bolshaya Nevka.

As of the 2010 Census, its population was 20,575, up from 19,277 recorded during the 2002 Census.

Petrogradsky Island (Russian: Петроградский остров)is the third largest island in the Neva River deltain Saint Petersburg, Russia.Along with Zayachy Island, Aptekarsky Island, and Petrovsky Island,it constitutes the Petrogradskaya Side(Russian: Петроградская сторона).It is the administrative center of the Petrogradsky District and hosts a number of universities and research centers, as well as cultural,historical, and recreational facilities.

The Ostrov Theatre (Russian: Драматический театр «Остров») is a private theatre on the corner of Kamennoostrovsky Prospect in Saint Petersburg. It was founded in 1990.
