Crathie (Scottish Gaelic: Craichidh) is a village in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. It stands on the north bank of the River Dee.Abergeldie Castle is 1 mile (2 kilometres) away. It was built around 1550 and had 19th century additions. It was garrisoned by General Hugh Mackay in 1689.Crathie is 7 miles (11 kilometres) west of Ballater, but only 1⁄2 mile (800 metres) east of Balmoral Castle.
