Sands Street station

Sands Street was a station on the demolished BMT Myrtle Avenue Line. It was a large complex with two levels.The lower level served trains going to Park Row in Manhattan via the Brooklyn Bridge Elevated Line. It had four tracks and two island platforms, with the outer platform faces serving streetcars.

Opened on May 24, 1883, the Brooklyn Bridge was the first fixed crossing across the East River. It was also the longest suspension bridge in the world at the time of its opening, with a main span of 1,595.5 feet (486.3 m) and a deck located 127 ft (38.7 m) above mean high water.
