Hangzhou (Chinese: 杭州; Hangzhounese pronunciation: [ɦɑ̃.tse], Standard Mandarin pronunciation: [xǎŋ.ʈʂóu] (listen)), also romanized as Hangchow, is the capital and most populous city of Zhejiang, People's Republic of China. It sits at the head of Hangzhou Bay, which separates Shanghai and Ningbo. Hangzhou grew to prominence as the southern terminus of the Grand Canal and has been one of the most renowned and prosperous cities in China for much of the last millennium.

China Academy of Art (Chinese: 中国美术学院), also translated as China National Academy of Fine Arts, is a fine arts college under the direct charge of the Ministry of Culture of China. It was founded in Hangzhou in 1928 by the government of the Republic of China and the renowned educator Cai Yuanpei. It was the first art university and first graduate school in Chinese history.

Baochu Pagoda (Chinese: 保俶塔; pinyin: Bǎochù tǎ) is a pagoda in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, China. Known as one of the landmarks of the West Lake, it is located just north of the lake on top of Precious Stone Hill (宝石山, bǎoshíshān). Its small base supports seven stories (45 me) and gives it a distinctively slender and elegant appearance.

CAA Art Museum (simplified Chinese: 中国美术学院美术馆; traditional Chinese: 中國美術學院美術館; pinyin: Zhōngguó měishù xuéyuàn měishùguǎn), is an art museum affiliated to China Art Academy (CAA) in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, China. Despite its history dating back to 1935, the Museum became open to the public in 2003 after its building was reconstructed.

Manao Temple (simplified Chinese: 玛瑙寺; traditional Chinese: 瑪瑙寺; pinyin: Mǎnǎo Sì; lit.: 'Temple of Agate') is a former Buddhist temple located in Xihu District of Hangzhou, Zhejiang.

Leifeng Pagoda is a five story tall tower with eight sides, located on Sunset Hill south of the West Lake in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, China. Originally constructed in the year AD 975, it collapsed in 1924 but was rebuilt in 2002. Since then, it has become a popular tourist attraction.

The Xiling Seal Art Society (Chinese: 西泠印社) is a Chinese arts organisation based in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, PRC. It was founded in 1904 but, with antecedents dating back to the Ming and Qing dynasties, is one of China's most important traditional stone seal engraving associations.

Jingci Temple (simplified Chinese: 净慈寺; traditional Chinese: 淨慈寺; pinyin: Jìngcí Sì) is located at the foot of Huiri Peak of Nanping Hill. It is the second prominent Buddhist temple beside West Lake in Hangzhou, China. Together with Lingyin Temple, it is called the jewel of the southern and northern hills.

The West Lake Museum (Chinese: 西湖博物馆) is a museum in Hangzhou, China concerning aspects of the West Lake. There are four main exhibition areas in the hall introducing the amongst others the landscape, humanity and historical influence of the West Lake.

The Zhejiang Provincial Museum (浙江省博物馆) is the provincial museum of Zhejiang, China, located in Hangzhou. It was established in 1929 as the West Lake Museum on the Gushan Island in the West Lake. It houses over 100,000 items in its permanent collection. On 22 December 2009, a new building was inaugurated on the West Lake Cultural Square near the Wulin Square, next to the Grand Canal.
