Meißen to Dresden Elbe cycle path

The Battle of Meissen (4 December 1759) was an Austrian victory over a larger Prussian army during the Third Silesian War (part of the Seven Years' War). An Austrian force under the command of general Beck assaulted 3,500 Prussian troops under Diericke at Meissen, overwhelming them and driving the survivors across the Elbe.

Meissen Altstadt station (German: Bahnhof Meißen Altstadt) is a railway station in the town of Meissen, Saxony, Germany. The station lies on the Borsdorf–Coswig railway.

Schloss Scharfenberg, Saxony is a medieval castle on the southern slopes of the River Elbe mid-way between Dresden and Meissen. It lies in the Klipphausen district of Pegenau.The castle has a panoramic view over the Elbe valley. It has a long-established link to many artists as a Romantic subject. It is currently (2019) run partly as a hotel, taking advantage of its romantic location and atmosphere.

Meissen station is the largest railway station in the town of Meissen in the German state of Saxony. The station was opened in 1860 in the district of Cölln. Its entrance building, which was built in 1928, is a heritage-listed building and along with the Stuttgart Hauptbahnhof it is considered an architecturally significant transport complex of the interwar period.
