Santorini Oia-Phira

Firá (Greek: Φηρά, pronounced [fi.'ra]) is the modern capital of the Greek Aegean island of Santorini. A traditional settlement, "Firá" derives its name from an alternative pronunciation of "Thíra", the ancient name of the island itself.Fira is a city of white-washed houses built on the edge of the 400 metres (1,312 feet) high caldera on the western edge of the semi-circular island of Thera.

The Raid on Santorini took place on 24 April 1944 as part of the Mediterranean Campaign in World War II. It was conducted by the British Special Boat Service, against the mixed German and Italian garrison on the island of Santorini (Thera) in the Aegean Sea. The raid was made in tandem with similar operations at the islands of Ios, Mykonos and Amorgos that aimed to destroy Axis naval observation posts and radio stations on the Cycladic islands.

Imerovigli (Greek: Ημεροβίγλι) is a village on the island of Santorini, Greece, adjacent to the north of the island capital Fira. Imerovigli is mostly famous for its beautiful sunset, that it is called "balcony to the Aegean". Its houses are built amphitheatrically around the caldera and it is crossed by narrow, paved paths.

Amoudi Bay is a bay on the Greek Island of Santorini. The feature is set into the high volcanic cliffs of western Santorini below the town of Oia.

The Archaeological Museum of Thera is a museum in Fira, Santorini, Greece. It was built in 1960 to replace an older one which had collapsed by the 1956 Amorgos earthquake.Its collection houses artifacts that begin from Proto-Cycladic marble figurines of the 3rd millennium BC, and continue on to the Classical period.

The St. John the Baptist Cathedral (Greek: Καθεδρικός ναός του Αγίου Ιωάννη του Βαπτιστή) is a Roman Catholic church in Santorini, Greece, and serves as the cathedral of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Santorini (Dioecesis Sanctoriensis or Επισκοπή Θήρας) which was created in 1204.The cathedral is located in the city center, in the Catholic neighborhood.

The Three Bells of Fira (Greek: Τρεις καμπάνες των Φηρών), officially known as The Catholic Church of Koimisi Tis Theotokou, is a Greek Catholic church on the island of Santorini. The church is famed for its three bells, blue dome, and picturesque views. The building is located in the town of Fira, directly above the cliffs which dominate western Santorini.

The Santorini cable car connects the port with the town of Thera in Santorini island in Greece. It was constructed as a donation of the “Loula & Evangelos Nomikos Foundation”. The cable car was built by Doppelmayr, has a capacity of 1,200 people per hour (600 per hour in each direction). The journey takes 3 minutes.
