Bonhill to Balloch

Balloch Castle is an early 19th-century country house situated at the southern tip of Loch Lomond, in West Dunbartonshire, Scotland. Balloch was a property of the Lennox family from the 11th century, and the old castle was built in the 13th century. In the 19th century the estate was purchased by John Buchanan of Ardoch, who demolished the ruins of the old castle and erected the present building.

Balloch Country Park features nature trails, guided walks, a walled garden, and picnic lawns with views of the Loch.

Balloch Central railway station was the main railway station serving the town of Balloch in Scotland. It was opened on 15 July 1850 by the Caledonian and Dunbartonshire Junction Railway.

Jamestown (Scottish Gaelic: Baile Sheumais, Scots: Jeamstoun) is a village in the Vale of Leven conurbation in West Dunbartonshire, Scotland.Located on the east bank of the River Leven, it is sandwiched between Balloch to the north and Bonhill to the south.It is losing its identity as a separate village, as some estate agents treat it as part of Balloch.

Balloch Pier railway station was a railway station serving the southern end of Loch Lomond on the northern edge of Balloch, Scotland.In 1960 the North Clyde Line was electrified, with Balloch Pier being electrified at 25 kV 50 Hz AC, using the Class 303 'Blue Train' EMU stock.It was closed on 28 September 1986 as a result of the 1984 Strathclyde Rail Review.

Loch Lomond Radium Works was a company founded by John Stewart MacArthur in 1911 as the Radium Works in Halton, (Cheshire) and moved the company to Balloch, West Dunbartonshire in 1915. The company produced radium for the use in medicine and for radioluminescent paint until it was closed down in 1927.

PS Maid of the Loch is the last paddle steamer built in Britain. She operated on Loch Lomond for 29 years and as of 2019 is being restored at Balloch pier.The Maid of the Loch is open to the public every day Easter to October, and weekends only through the Winter. She has a new livery of red, white and black, the funnel now red with a black top.

Balloch railway station is a railway station serving the town of Balloch in Scotland. The station is a terminus on the North Clyde Line, 19 3⁄4 miles (31.8 km) north west of Glasgow Queen Street railway station. The station is managed by Abellio ScotRail. It lies within the boundary (by just over 150 metres) of the Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park and provides the only example of an overhead electrified railway operating within any UK national park.
