At the beginning, the path is fairly level as you take coach road towards castle park. There you will have benches to sit and a children’s play park. From there, there is a steep path up through the woods where the path is fairly even. The path down towards Whitehaven is a little unsteady in places and this part of the route includes a few narrow steps. Down onto the main road. Once on the main road the path becomes even again. Through the town onto the harbour. On and around the harbour part of this route is easily accessible with a choice of steps and ramps. There is plenty of parking throughout the town and all along this route.
