Rivermont

Randolph College is a private liberal arts and sciences college in Lynchburg, Virginia. Founded in 1891 as Randolph-Macon Woman's College, it was renamed on July 1, 2007, when it became coeducational.The college offers 32 majors; 42 minors; pre-professional programs in law, medicine, veterinary medicine, engineering physics, and teaching; and a dual degree program in engineering.

The Main Hall is a historic building located on the campus of Randolph College in Lynchburg, Virginia. It was built between 1891 and 1911, and is a large Queen Anne style brick building complex. The central entrance tower and eastern wings were constructed between 1891–1893. Two additional wings were added to the west in 1896.

The Rivermont Historic District is a national historic district located in Lynchburg, Virginia. It is a 192.10-acre (0.7774 km2) district consisting of the 300-3400 blocks of Rivermont Avenue as well as Riverside Park and a few properties alongside streets that face onto Rivermont Avenue. It is bounded by the James River on the east and northeast, Blackwater Creek on the east and southeast, Daniel's Hill on the north and Virginia Episcopal Road and the southern end of Boonesboro Road.

Armstrong Elementary School is a historic elementary school for African-American students located at Lynchburg, Virginia. It opened in 1954, and consists of five sections: the two-story, 12-bay long, brick veneer classroom block; the shorter, rectangular-shaped cafetorium (combination cafeteria and auditorium) on the northeast end of the classroom block with a smaller kitchen wing; a large rectangular gymnasium on the rear; and the adjacent small boiler room.

Miller–Claytor House is a historic home located at Riverside Park in Lynchburg, Virginia. It is a two-story, white framed structure, sheathed with beaded weatherboards. It is believed to be the fourth house erected in the new town in 1791, and is probably the oldest extant Lynchburg dwelling. In 1936, the imminent demolition of the house led to the formation of the Lynchburg Historical Society and the subsequent removal of the house to its present site.

Winfree Observatory is an astronomical observatory owned and operated by Randolph College. Built in 1900 and named after Maj. C.V. Winfree, it is located in Lynchburg, Virginia (USA).
