Burrell Collection

The Burrell Collection is an art collection in the city of Glasgow, Scotland. It is situated in Pollok Country Park on the south side of the city. The museum closed for refurbishment on 23 October 2016 and was due to reopen in 2020. However, Glasgow Life confirmed in July 2019 that it would be spring 2021 before the re-opening takes place

Pollok House is the ancestral home of the Stirling Maxwell family, located in Pollok Country Park, Glasgow, Scotland.The house – built in 1752 and originally thought to be designed by William Adam, but who may only have been consulted on the design, was subsequently extended by Rowand Anderson in the early 20th century – was gifted to the City of Glasgow in 1966 by Dame Anne Maxwell Macdonald, whose family had owned the estate for almost 700 years.

Despite this, by 2019 it was considered that the park was 'underused' with plans drawn up to encourage more visitors.

Located within Pollok Country Park, it is the home ground of Poloc Cricket Club and has staged three first-class matches.The earliest match hosted by the club that is, arguably, of historic interest was the game between a West of Scotland select team and the Australian Imperial Forces as part of the latter's tour of England in 1919.
