Southport parklands

The Gold Coast Aquatic Centre (also known as the Optus Aquatic Centre for the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games) is a public swimming pool complex located in the Southport Broadwater Parklands on the Gold Coast, Queensland. It was the swimming and diving facility for the 2018 Commonwealth Games.

The 1954 Australian Grand Prix was a motor race held at the Southport Road Circuit near Southport in Queensland, Australia on 7 November 1954. The race was held over 27 laps of the nine mile (9.7 kilometre) circuit, a total distance of 153.9 miles (247.6 km). It was the nineteenth Australian Grand Prix and the second to be held in Queensland.

Gold Coast Chinatown is focused on Davenport and Young Streets, and includes the connecting laneways (Regent and Davison Lanes) and parts of Nerang, Garden and Scarborough Streets, Southport. Gold Coast Chinatown is part of the revitalisation of Southport as a central business district for the Gold Coast.

Broadwater Parklands light rail station is located on Queen Street in the Gold Coast suburb of Southport. The station is part of the Gold Coast G:link light rail system and provides direct access to Southport Broadwater Parklands, a large community park situated on the Gold Coast Broadwater.

The 1988 Lifesaving World Championships were held between 22–27 March 1988 at the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia.These were the first Lifesaving World Championships to include both pool and ocean events with the pool events being conducted at the Southport Olympic Pool in Southport and the ocean events being conducted at Main Beach and Greenmount Beach.

Southport Pier is a pier spanning the Gold Coast Broadwater in Southport, a suburb on the Gold Coast in South East Queensland, Australia. The current pier was constructed in 2009, replacing a previous structure demolished in 1969.

Southport Bathing Pavilion is a heritage-listed changing rooms at Marine Parade, Southport, Gold Coast City, Queensland, Australia. It was designed by Hall & Phillips and built in 1934 by A. Ledbury. It was added to the Queensland Heritage Register on 13 January 1995.

The Southport Broadwater Parklands is a large community park located in Southport. It is designed for large community gatherings and families. The park has many different areas for children and barbecue areas for families. The park went through a major redevelopment and was re-opened by the Premier of Queensland, Anna Bligh, on 23 August 2009.

The Gold Coast Broadwater, also known as Southport Broadwater, Gold Coast Harbour and The Broadwater, is a large shallow estuary of water located in the Gold Coast district of South East Queensland, Australia. The estuary reaches from the locality of Southport in the south, to the southern section of the UNESCO World Heritage Listed Moreton Bay in the north.

Southport Transit Centre is on Scarborough Street in Southport, Queensland, Australia. Opened on 29 November 2000 by the Hon. Steve Bredhauer MP, the $6 million Southport Transit Centre Project was a joint partnership between Queensland Transport and the Southport Workers’ Club.It provides services for private and charter coaches on interstate and intrastate routes.
