The Sapienza University of Rome (Italian: Sapienza – Università di Roma), also called simply Sapienza or the University of Rome, is a collegiate research university that is located in Rome, Italy. Formally known as Università degli Studi di Roma "La Sapienza", it is one of the largest European universities by enrollments and one of the oldest in history, founded in 1303.

The Biblioteca Nazionale Centrale di Roma (Rome National Central Library), in Rome, is one of two central national libraries of Italy, along with Biblioteca Nazionale Centrale di Firenze in Florence. In total, 9 national libraries exist, out of 46 state libraries.The library's mission is to collect and preserve all the publications in Italy and the most important foreign works, especially those related to Italy, and make them available to anyone.

Located in the Quartiere San Lorenzo, the Policlinico Umberto I of Rome is the polyclinic of the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery of the Sapienza Università di Roma. The second largest public hospital in Italy (after the Policlinico Sant'Orsola-Malpighi in Bologna), its construction was mainly promoted by Italian physicians and politicians Guido Baccelli and Francesco Durante and began in 1883 to plans by Giulio Podesti and Filippo Laccetti, and was completed 20 years later, with the opening presided over by the then rector Luigi Galassi and by Umberto I of Italy, after whom it is named.

Bologna is a station on Line B of the Rome Metro. It is an underground station located under Piazza Bologna (at the intersection of Viale XXI Aprile, Via Livorno, Via Michele di Lando, Via Lorenzo il Magnifico, Viale delle Province, Via Sambucuccio d'Alando, Via Ravenna). It was opened in December 1990.

Policlinico is a station on Line B of the Rome Metro. It is named after the nearby Policlinico Umberto I. It is located in Piazza Sassari, at the intersection with Viale Regina Margherita, Viale Regina Elena and Via Giovanni Maria Lancisi. It was opened in 1990.

The University of Rome Unitelma Sapienza, formerly known as Unitelma Sapienza University (Italian: Università telematica "UNITELMA Sapienza"), often simply abbreviated as "Unitelma - Sapienza," is a private university founded in 2004 in Rome, Italy. Unitelma - Sapienza is the only on-line Italian university that is maintained by a consortium composed of public universities and enterprises.
