Maruyama Park (円山公園, Maruyama kōen) is a park in Kyoto, Japan. It is noted as the main center for cherry blossom viewing in Kyoto, and can get extremely crowded at that time of year (April). The park's star attraction is a weeping cherry tree (shidarezakura) which becomes lit up at night. It also becomes busy in the New Year's Eve Festivals.

The Ryozen Museum of History (幕末維新ミュージアム 霊山歴史館, Bakumatsu Ishin Myūjiamu: Ryōzen Rekishikan) is a history museum located in Kyoto, Japan. It specializes in the history of the Bakumatsu period and the Meiji Restoration.The Museum is next to the Kyoto Ryozen Gokoku Shrine.

Kiyomizu-dera (清水寺), formally Otowa-san Kiyomizu-dera (音羽山清水寺), is a Buddhist temple in eastern Kyoto. The temple is part of the Historic Monuments of Ancient Kyoto (Kyoto, Uji and Otsu Cities) UNESCO World Heritage site.The place is not to be confused with Kiyomizu-dera in Yasugi, Shimane, which is part of the 33-temple route of the Chūgoku 33 Kannon Pilgrimage through western Japan, or the Kiyomizu-dera temple associated with the Buddhist priest Nichiren.

Gion (祇園) is a district of Kyoto, Japan, originally developed in the Sengoku period, in front of Yasaka Shrine (Gion Shrine). The district was built to accommodate the needs of travelers and visitors to the shrine. It eventually evolved to become one of the most exclusive and well-known geisha districts in all of Japan.

Ichiriki Chaya (一力茶屋, Ichiriki Teahouse), formerly Ichiriki-tei (一力亭, Ichiriki Mansion), is an historic ochaya (English: Geisha "tea house") in Kyoto, Japan. It is located at the southeast corner of Shijō Street and Hanami Lane, its entrance right at the heart of the Gion Kobu district). It is considered an exclusive and high-end establishment; access is invitation only and entertainment can cost upwards of ¥800,000 Yen ($8,000 USD) per night while its fame is often associated with the Chushingura event.

Chion-in (知恩院, Chion-in) in Higashiyama-ku, Kyoto, Japan is the headquarters of the Jōdo-shū (Pure Land Sect) founded by Hōnen (1133–1212), who proclaimed that sentient beings are reborn in Amida Buddha's Western Paradise (Pure Land) by reciting the nembutsu, Amida Buddha's name.The vast compounds of Chion-in include the site where Hōnen settled to disseminate his teachings and the site where he died.

Shijō Street (四条通, Shijō-dōri) runs in the center of Kyoto, Japan from east to west through the commercial center of the city. Shijō literally means Fourth Avenue of Heian-kyō, the ancient capital.

The Kyoto Ryozen Gokoku Shrine (京都霊山護国神社, Kyōto Ryōzen Gokoku Jinja) is a Shinto Shrine located in Kyoto, Japan. It honors the heroes of Japan, especially from the period of the Bakumatsu period and the Meiji Restoration, most famously Sakamoto Ryōma and his associate Nakaoka Shintarō, who are buried side-by-side in the shrine.
