Kannapolis (Kŭh-nă-pŭh-lŭs) is a city in Cabarrus and Rowan counties, in the U.S. state of North Carolina, northwest of Concord and northeast of Charlotte and is a suburb in the Charlotte metropolitan area. The city of Kannapolis was incorporated in 1984. The population was 42,625 at the 2010 census, which makes Kannapolis the 20th largest city in North Carolina.

Atrium Health Ballpark is a baseball stadium in Kannapolis, North Carolina. As of April 2020, it will be the home for the Kannapolis Cannon Ballers, the Class A South Atlantic League affiliate of the Chicago White Sox, replacing Intimidators Stadium. The stadium is located adjacent to the North Carolina Research Campus and is the centerpiece of a $100 million redevelopment of downtown Kannapolis.

A.L. (Alfred Luther) Brown High School is a comprehensive public high school in Kannapolis, North Carolina. It is the only high school in the Kannapolis City Schools district as well as the city of Kannapolis.A.L. Brown was recognized by DPI as a "School of Distinction" under the state's ABC standards for public education for the 2003–2010 school years.

Harvey Jeremiah Peeler House, also known as Lady's Funeral Home, is a historic home located at Kannapolis, Cabarrus County, North Carolina. It was built in 1923, and is two-story, American Craftsman / Colonial Revival style brick house with a hipped roof. It features a one-story wraparound front porch with two formal entrances.

Cannon High School was a Kannapolis, North Carolina high school that existed from 1924 to 1951. Originally known as Central High School, it was renamed J.W. Cannon High School in 1930. In 1933, it burned down, and was rebuilt in 1934. A.L. Brown High School was constructed 50 yards southeast of Cannon High School in 1950-1951, and Cannon High School became J.

Kannapolis is an Amtrak train station in Kannapolis, North Carolina. It is served by the Carolinian and the Piedmont passenger trains. Amtrak's daily Crescent passes through the station but does not stop. The street address is 201 South Main Street, and is located in the heart of downtown Kannapolis.

The museum serves as a clearinghouse for North Carolina musicians from all time periods, and preserves a number of memorabilia artifacts for public display.

The institute researches food crops, like fruits and vegetables, and the potential health-promoting properties they may convey when consumed.
